Education + Research

Architectus designs transformative schools, campuses and buildings that readily adapt to the shifting landscape in education.

We understand the power of each unique place we design – how it can change the way people think, feel, and act. That’s why we take a holistic approach, understanding each user’s experience of space, whether it’s physical or digital. This results in uplifting environments that support the latest teaching methods and learning technologies, attract and retain students and staff, and contribute to better educational outcomes.

Collaborating with educators, staff, students, technologists, and facility managers, our team designs buildings and spaces that are fundamentally resilient – flexible for daily use and over time, socially and environmentally sustainable, and cost effective to build, run, and maintain.

We have completed more than 80 schools across New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria creating a bedrock of knowledge in our 100-strong national team of experienced education designers.

Some of our industry-leading work includes the Macquarie University 1 Central Courtyard Building – part of a transformation of the campus – the award-winning Bendigo TAFE City Campus, biophilic design leader Barker College, and a range of schools designed for Melbourne’s fastest growing suburbs.

The Education Sector is part of our Communities portfolio, which responds to the increasing overlap between learning campuses, urban renewal, and public spaces.
