Professional Experience
A leading architect in both the education and rail sectors, Mark has driven strategic analysis, briefing, design, and delivery of many significant city-shaping projects.
In his role as Architectus’ National Education Sector Leader, Mark brings considerable experience in steering the design of important tertiary, public and private school projects. His portfolio in the field encompasses the award-winning Surf Coast Secondary College, Maribyrnong Sports High School, and Yuille Park Community College. Most recently at Architectus, he was the Principal in Charge for the Growth Areas Schools Project in Melbourne’s booming outer suburbs – a project comprising 10 new primary and secondary schools which will set the tempo for the education of thousands of Victorian school students.
Tertiary projects led by Mark include numerous large-scale projects for RMIT such as the institution’s Social Innovation Precinct, Bundoora Master Plan, and Vietnam Master Plan.
With a considerable background in the rail sector, Mark has a high-level understanding of specific issues faced during the delivery of complex developments. His rail project work includes station buildings as well as major infrastructure planning in Sydney and Melbourne such as the Sydney Metro City and Southwest, the Melbourne Metro Rail Infrastructure Alliance, and the Melbourne Airport Rail.
An engaging leader, Mark knows how to build team momentum throughout large-scale, complex projects. He is exceptionally skilled in client and stakeholder engagement, believing multilateral collaboration underpins successful design journeys. He consistently delivers integrated and efficient outcomes that represent the best value for clients.
