Architectus, in joint venture with K2LD, was selected as Principal Design Consultant for the construction and associated works for the Victorian Growth Areas Schools Project.
This is a significant project involving ten new schools that will link growth areas through new school infrastructure and promote community connection across educational sectors and providers. It will connect teaching and learning activities with the latest in research, business activities, and the community at large. Importantly as an education strategy, it offers learning pathways and networks from the very beginnings at an early childhood level, that can be carried through to higher education years.
Our design methodology has developed through three distinct phases: analysing each site, developing template designs for six P-6 schools, two P-9 schools and two Senior Schools, and the development of template / site specific documentation for D+C procurement for $220m of works within a 12 week program.
