The Flinders University Health and Medical Research Building (HMRB) will be an advanced health research facility incorporating wet and dry research laboratories, work areas and public space. The first building on the new Flinders Village Campus, HMRB will house researchers from the College of Medicine and Public Health and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

The building will be a place of excellence in research and will highlight the work conducted by Flinders University by putting it on display. The state-of-the-art facilities will be world-class and will celebrate human centred outcomes.

Due for completion in 2023, the HMRB is targeting both International WELL Building Institute and LEED ratings.

The HMRB will promote a considered Indigenous agenda, will be culturally safe and will connect the Flinders University Sturt and Bedford Park campuses to the Flinders Medical Centre and Flinders Private Hospital as well as the new Flinders train station.

Ultimately, the HMRB aims to maximise researcher and clinician interaction with the broader University and the public. In accommodating new technologies and innovation the building will foster a collaborative environment that allows people to work together creatively and learn from each other to build upon and showcase research on the world stage.
