Architectus was engaged by NSW Health Infrastructure to undertake town planning work during the preliminary stages of a State Significant Development (SSD) Application for the redevelopment of Shellharbour Hospital.

The proposal consists of a new seven-storey clinical services building of approximately 22 000 m2 to be constructed alongside the existing hospital buildings.

The project involves connections between new and existing facilities including a pedestrian hospital street, landscaping and external site works, existing building refurbishment works, and alterations to existing at-grade car parking and additional at-grade car parking.

Particular issues and impacts of note include the potential purchase of Council reserve land, car parking and access arrangements, proximity to a watercourse, and the bulk and scale of the proposed development.

Architectus prepared town planning reports for the Concept Design, Due Diligence and the Request for Director-General’s Requirements.
