Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) provides state-wide rehabilitation services for spinal and brain injury patients.
Our team created a concept design for the PAH Urban Corner and Sub-Acute Services Renewal project as part of the Hospital’s preliminary business case.
The design informs the proposed development of a new Sub-Acute Rehabilitation facility including long-stay inpatient units, integrated allied health and outpatient services, and facilitates future expansion strategies throughout the site.
The design response aims to incorporate innovative and best-practice rehabilitation clinical approaches in a multi-disciplinary collaborative environment.
Also included is an expansion of the Geriatric and General Rehabilitation services to meet increasing health service requirements.
The project synthesises urban and precinct-wide design drivers with the needs of a diverse client and stakeholder group through a detailed consultation process.
We worked in collaboration with financial, risk and clinical service teams to develop a design response which exemplifies future development directions for Metro South Health.
