“Six to fourteen Cambridge Street is a truly unique multi-generational project benefiting both young and old in the community – the elderly will be rejuvenated by familial youthful energy, while children have access to an untapped history of society and different world views.”
– Farhad Haidari, Principal in Charge

Comprising a contemporary primary school, Parish Hall, and an elegant 29-storey residential tower with 172 independent living units and 132 residential aged-care beds, this integrated independent living and aged-care project at 6-14 Cambridge Street, Epping establishes a community precinct neighbouring existing heritage Catholic Church, Our Lady Help of Christians.

The project adopts an innovative integrated living model for senior members of the Epping community, allowing people to “age-in-place” and deepen connections with their community, Church and Parish as well as the local children at the onsite Primary School.

The design of the new buildings respects the topography and scale of the historic church, while deepening the Church’s connection to the Epping community. Generous pathways and a landscaped courtyard will link new and old, with many established trees retained, and significant new plantings added.

On the Church’s southern side, the two-storied school building will have a simple and contemporary presence, containing light-filled spaces for positive learning within. The 200-seat Parish Hall on the Church’s northern side reflects masonry materials used in the original Church building. The modern residential tower has a modest floorplate and is set back from the street to achieve minimal overshadowing of the Church.
