Commissioned by the Building and Asset Services (BAS) on behalf of Public Safety Business Agency for the redevelopment of the Beaudesert site, our design includes a new 24-hour Police Station, which also provides a One Stop Shop for DSITIA.

The design is a response to both the functionality of a complex and technical brief, as well as an examination of the traditional typology of civic institutions and their role within the community. A set of large clerestory windows provide natural light and views to the scheme’s occupants, while maintaining privacy and technical functionality at lower levels. The scheme addresses the street with a brick façade – a reference to Beaudesert’s masonry tradition – and employs an innovative brick sun-screen in response to the site’s western orientation. The design has been developed to allow a complex range of future expansion scenarios on the site.
