First cohort of students arrive at new Victorian schools
While schools around the country welcomed students back for another school year, it has been an exciting and memorable start for Victorian primary school’s Casey Fields, Lucas, Grayling, and Homestead Senior Secondary College as they welcomed their first cohort of students.
Victorian Minister for Education James Merlino attended a special ceremony last week for the opening of Homestead Senior Secondary College, which is part of the Growth Areas School Project (GASP), a joint venture between Architectus and K2LD, and built by Kane Constructions.
Collaboratively designed by Architectus, K2LD and DesignInc and built by ADCO Constructions, Casey Fields (Cranbourne), Lucas (Ballarat) and Grayling (Clyde North) primary schools form part of the New Schools 2020 Project.
Casey Fields Primary School, Lucas Primary School and Grayling Primary School and Homestead Senior Secondary College all feature state-of-the-art facilities including a performing arts and physical education building, a large gymnasium, and collaborative learning and administration spaces.
The Growth Areas School Project (GASP), a joint venture between Architectus and K2LD, and the New Schools 2020 Project, a collaboration between Architectus, K2LD and DesignInc have both been commissioned by the Victorian School Building Authority (VBSA) to provide essential school infrastructure for key growth corridors across Victoria.
