Brookfield Place Sydney achieves major milestone
Wynyard Place renamed Brookfield Place Sydney during topping out ceremony
Today we celebrate, along with Brookfield Properties, Make Architects, Multiplex and TTW Engineers, the topping out of construction and the renaming of the world-class Wynyard project, now known as Brookfield Place Sydney.
The topping out took place at the project’s centrepiece, 10 Carrington – a 27-level PCA Premium Grade commercial tower with a total net lettable area of 59,000 sqm, offering world-class facilities, amenities and finishes to set a new standard in workplace design.
Architectus Principal and CEO Ray Brown said, “The design intent for Brookfield Place Sydney was to re-establish this important Sydney precinct as a premium office location. The tower has been thoughtfully stitched into the fabric of the city and links to two heritage buildings, providing public access for the first time to the iconic Shell House clocktower via a rooftop restaurant and public space. The public transport interface and retail amenity has been transformed and new public through site links established.
“It has been a privilege to work on the landmark Brookfield Place Sydney project with Brookfield Properties and Make Architects, and the topping out of the commercial tower is a significant milestone for the project team. This landmark project will reinvigorate the whole Wynyard precinct with new office space, retail and high-quality public domain, and provide a world class gateway to the heart of the Sydney CBD through Wynyard Station.”
On completion in 2021, Brookfield Place Sydney will provide bespoke accommodation for a range of tenants while delivering Sydneysiders an exciting new retail and commercial precinct, a revitalised Wynyard Lane and major upgrade to Wynyard Station’s George Street entrance, connecting to a grand transit hall and public concourse.
