Architectus is working with Santa Maria College to create a new state-of-the-art music, dance and drama centre for their campus in the Perth suburb of Attadale.
The first part of a visionary master plan, the Cultural Centre will set the stage for school’s talented students, giving them a place to gather, perform, learn and discover.
Our modern and beautifully simple competition-winning design for the centre represents a seamless addition to the tree-lined streets and historic buildings of the college’s ‘Knowledge Walk’.
The new building will meet the current and future needs of Santa Maria with:
-A 650-seat auditorium with a mix of fixed and flexible seating
-A multi-function/inter-disciplinary facility for music, drama and dance
-A dance studio, blackbox theatre, orchestra space and rooms for teaching and ensembles
-A generous multi-use foyer and servery for college and community events, and
-An integrated courtyard providing outdoor spaces for learning, performing and gathering.
Importantly, the design for the Cultural Centre lays the foundations for the next stages of the master plan.
