Working with Blacktown City Council, our landscape team is delivering the new 12-hectare regional open space at Nirimba Fields featuring facilities for netball, hocky and multi-use courts, village green, and a multi-purpose sports and community building.

This regional, shared-use sporting destination in Western Sydney will support the ongoing growth of Blacktown, one of the fastest growing municipalities in Australia.

Our team is planning this evolving space around the following design principles:

Layering of place – Creating memorable landscapes that speak to the site’s history and the emerging community
Creating balance – Establishing functional spaces for sports and events while also increasing other positive places for communities to gather, and
Focusing on green – Challenging the norm by proposing greener alternatives, increasing canopy cover, drawing on Water Sensitive Urban Design, and improving the user journey.
