Located in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, the Bowral Hospital campus has changed and expanded significantly over its 100+ year history.

Our team was commissioned to complete a master plan for a major development of the hospital involving a staged demolition and new build process.

For the first stage, a new Critical Care building was constructed to expand and delineate services for the Bowral and district hospital. The second stage involved the significant refurbishment and repurposing of existing buildings to support allied health and administration functions. It is also designed to create new public spaces and connections between the Stage 1 development and the remainder of the campus.

The new clinical services building provides better patient and staff amenities, new operating theatres, adult and paediatric inpatient wards, birthing suites, additional single rooms with ensuites, rehabilitation spaces, and a new main entrance.

The redeveloped hospital’s unique landscape setting inspired the form, materials and location of the new hospital.
