600 Collins Street
Rising 180 metres above street level, 600 Collins Street is set to be a landmark office tower with public spaces, ground-breaking sustainability initiatives, and the highest level of amenities ever seen in a Melbourne development.
Architectus and WilkinsonEyre won the competition to design the skyscraper for international real estate firm Hines. Hines recognised the design scheme for its careful response to the urban context and respect for the neighbouring buildings while also optimising the floor plate of this high-value site at the western end of Collins Street.
The building design aims to set a benchmark for office towers in Melbourne and Australia through its articulated façade, flexibility and amenity, including:
- Premium hospitality
- Rooftop terraces and outdoor spaces
- Conference and collaboration zones
- A wellness centre
- Integrated biophilia across indoor and outdoor environments
Designed to draw on the fine-grain laneways of its surroundings, 600 Collins will welcome the public by creating new pedestrian connections between Collins Street and Francis Street. It will also offer improved public spaces with a lively street front that responds to Melbourne’s cultural scene.
With a striking curved façade, the building aims to regenerate its immediate surrounds and transform Melbourne’s most prominent business district into a new workplace destination.
Sitting across 70 metres of prime Collins Street frontage, it will deliver more than 60,000 square metres of intelligent office and collaborative spaces future-proofed against changes in technology, environment, workforce demographics and tenant needs.
Strong biophilic principles reflect the latest thinking in sustainable and healthy workplaces. 600 Collins Street targets a minimum 6 Star Green Star rating by the Green Building Council of Australia and a Platinum WELL Certification for its shell and core.
