Forging the future of contemporary practice

We are proud to announce that Architectus has entered a business partnership with Mercury Capital in an Australian-first for the architecture and design industry.

The partnership marks an exciting new chapter for Architectus. We have achieved exceptional growth in the last seven years with a broad, effective shareholder structure and this partnership with independent Australian private equity investor, Mercury Capital continues that ethos.

Architectus works with Australia’s top clients on some of the nation’s biggest projects. The experience and access to capital made available through the Mercury partnership will ensure our practice can continue to build expertise in both existing and emerging sectors, as well as help fast-track strategic acquisitions.

Mercury Capital has identified architecture and design as a growth industry of enormous potential. Architectus is proud to be the first architecture and design practice in Australia to enter a private equity partnership – a contemporary model that enables truly sustainable practice, scale and stability to our clients, as well as significant career opportunities for our people.

From 29 October 2021, Mercury Capital will assume a 50% shareholding in Architectus and the new Board of Architectus Australia will comprise current Principals, Ray Brown, Barry Aarons and Ruth Wilson, along with Clark Perkins, Chris Criddle and James Penn from Mercury Capital. We are also pleased to announce that Clark Perkins will become Chairman of the Architectus Australia Board as we move into the next phase of the evolution of our practice.
