Airport terminal space requirements for COVID-19

Functional Assessment and Capacity Tool (FACT) developed by Architectus interprets airport terminal space requirements for the COVID era

As our airline and airport partners contemplate what air travel will look like in the COVID-19 era, around the world designers, inventors – even dog trainers – are evolving ideas, processes and tools to support them. Scenarios for the short, medium and long-term changes to airport operations are unfolding and what these new requirements mean in terms of space and cost needs to be quickly assessed.

Playing our part, we have adapted our Aviation Functional Assessment and Capacity Tool (FACT) to interpret COVID-19 airport terminal space requirements. FACT provides quick and accurate comparative assessments of multiple scenarios against an optimum model for passenger and staff airport facilities. The analysis is directly linked to graphic summaries of each scenario and to our digital design models, enabling informed and expedient decision making by airline and airport stakeholders.

If you would like to know more about FACT or receive a live demonstration, please register your interest by emailing Karl Traeger at karl.traeger@architectus.com.au.
