At the heart of the seven-storey centre is the Karlup Service, named after the Noongar word for “a place where you belong and feel safe.” The service offers a comprehensive range of holistic support, including counselling, physical and mental health care, alcohol and other support, legal aid, education, and short-term accommodation.
Architectus Principal Mark Black highlighted the human-centred approach behind the project.
“This building has been designed with the human experience at its core; it is community-focused and will make a remarkable difference to many lives.”
The RCWC can assist 600 women and children each year. This culturally inclusive facility sets a new standard for domestic violence support services in Western Australia and beyond, offering a compassionate, comprehensive approach to healing and empowerment.
