Industry Lanes: a new generation of workplace

Architectus to transform Church Street precinct into Industry Lanes

Due for completion in 2021, we are transforming the precinct at 459-471 Church Street into Industry Lanes; a new generation of workplace which draws on the local vernacular and urban amenity of Melbourne’s inner-city neighbourhood of Richmond.

Located on a site connected to nearby parklands, lifestyle activity and central Melbourne, the Industry Lanes precinct will enhance connectivity within the neighbourhood, drawing people through the site between Church Street and Brighton Street.

The human experience has been curated from public realm through to workplace environments, fostering social resilience and sustainability. Offering a range of contemporary working environments, catering to larger tenants, strata and smaller business owners, the precinct will include childcare as proposed in the master plan vision, supporting a balanced work life model and sustainable workplace strategy.

Architectus Principal and National Commercial Sector Leader, Matthew Smith said, “Unlocking a site of this scale, potential and prominence in Richmond is a rare opportunity.

We worked closely with Salta for some time to locate the ‘right fringe site’ for them to develop.

It is a genuine whole-of-block precinct between Church Street and Brighton Street that enabled us to create a campus development with an authentic reference to the industrial heritage of Richmond.”
