Harbord Diggers receives commendation at National Urban Design Awards

We’re delighted that Harbord Diggers has received a commendation at the 2021 Australian Urban Design Award (AUDA) for Built Projects – Local and Neighbourhood Scale.

A collaboration between Architectus, CHROFI and JMD Design, the mixed-use intergenerational community hub is surrounded by spectacular coastal sandstone formations and native coastal landscape. The development combines an outdoors hospitality precinct with club, health, fitness, childcare, and retirement living. Public pathways connect the building to the coast, and open stairs between the levels unite the facility as a ‘hub’ while promoting a socially active lifestyle.

AUDA is Australia’s premier awards program for excellence and innovation in urban design. The award ceremony was held online on Tuesday 26 October 2021. Congratulations to all winners and finalists at this year’s AUDA awards.

Harbord Diggers has also recently been shortlisted for a 2021 National Architecture Award for Residential Architecture – Multiple Housing, as well as the 2021 World Architecture Awards for Mixed-Use and 2021 World Architecture Festival Awards for Mixed Use: Completed Buildings.
