Buildings and cities are the largest users of energy and the greatest contributors to climate change. Energy conservation measures can improve efficiency of our buildings and our equipment, particularly through reducing energy loss from heated or cooled environments. Efficient urban design can also reduce the energy expended in private car use. Uptake of renewable energy sources is rapidly advancing but is constantly challenged by global population growth, urbanization and expectations. When we integrate solar power into our projects we gain from the long- term benefit of freely available energy, but we also invest in the ongoing development of a renewable global technology.
