Architectus has designed the concept vision for Perth’s first comprehensive city university campus for Edith Cowan University. The new Creative Industries, Business and Technology Campus will be the centrepiece of a Perth City Deal, designed to bring the energy and vibrancy of more than 9000 students and staff to the heart of Perth’s CBD by 2025.

Located at the central Perth City Link precinct, next to Yagan Square, the new vertical campus will be a place where technology, industry and creativity meet.

It will be home to ECU’s internationally recognised Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), which will add more than 300 public performances to Perth’s arts calendar every year, and will also feature schools, programs and initiatives for:

  • Founding Pianos
  • Arts, Design and Communications
  • WA Screen Academy
  • Broadcasting
  • Kurongkurl Katitjin, our Centre for Indigenous Australian Education and Research
  • Business and Law
  • Technology and Cyber Security

ECU is Western Australia’s second largest university and more than 8000 students and 1200 staff are expected to be based at the new city campus when it opens for semester one, 2025, growing to more than 10 000 students and 1500 staff by 2030.
