Skye Niseko, a premium-grade ski resort located in Hokkaido Japan, has been shortlisted for the international ‘Residential Architecture – Multiple Housing’ award. Skye Niseko integrates seamlessly with the dramatic mountainous landscape and snowfields of the Niseko Grand Hirafu resort area while its contemporary design complements Japanese traditions, creating a timeless international and local feel.
PNG National Museum and Art Gallery, Papua New Guinea
The Papua New Guinea National Museum & Art Gallery Refurbishment & Exhibition has been shortlisted for the international ‘Small Project Architecture’ award. To celebrate 40 years of Papua New Guinea independence, Architectus collaborated with Papua New Guinea National Museum and Art Gallery to transform the museum into a cultural hub, revitalising gallery spaces and creating an exhibition design for the display of over 400 items.
Our gallery and exhibition design reveal original qualities of the building; and respects and celebrates the social and cultural significance of the objects on display. This project illustrates how the power of mutually respectful collaboration can lead to a stunning result.
