New hub for Macquarie University students and staff

Architectus has transformed 6000 m² of space at Macquarie University’s Building C7A into a temporary staff and student hub.

Incorporating the conversion of the original campus library and levels 3, 4 and 5, the project, designed to last approximately 5 years, provided an opportunity to expand and challenge current paradigms for student and staff environments, and to take occupants out of their comfort zones with new ways of working and interacting.

Building on the success of Baseline and MUSE on floors below, level 3 MAZE provides a highly interactive space for student groups with informal zones including open lounges, café style spaces, whimsically themed environments, workshop / brainstorm / support areas, event space, seminar, and private rooms. Built space has been avoided where possible with zones defined by meeting pods of coloured glass, modular furniture, and reusable ceiling panels.
