New Principal, Troy King, joins our Brisbane team

Architectus has appointed a new Principal to our Brisbane studio – Troy King, a widely respected interior designer with a portfolio of exceptional education and workplace projects.

Joining our Interior Architecture team today, Troy brings his design rigour and delivery know-how to the growing, dynamic Brisbane market.

With expertise in contemporary education and research spaces at universities, Troy is adept at weaving together learning, social and working spaces with an ability to harness design and technology to help clients navigate shifting landscapes.

He played a key role in the briefing, design, and delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary projects while at global practice Hassell, most recently as a Senior Associate in Brisbane. Projects include award winners like the Birch Building at ANU, the Creative Industries Precinct at QUT, and the Advanced Engineering Building at UQ.

A strong advocate for sustainable design, Troy also delivered a range of education and science projects as a Green Star accredited designer, including UQ’s Global Change Institute, one of the earliest buildings to target net zero in Australia.

In addition to his education expertise, he has created leading-edge workplaces, finding creative solutions for clients including Origin Energy in Brisbane and the ATO in Melbourne and Brisbane.

Architectus CEO Ray Brown said of the appointment: “The future of work relies on a deep understanding of workplace and learning environments. Troy has extensive expertise in both typologies, creating innovative spaces at the intersection of both worlds.”

Troy said: “I’m looking forward to working with the focused, committed national team at Architectus, in a city I know and love. It’s an exciting time for design in Brisbane.”
