$60m redevelopment for Bendigo TAFE

The Bendigo TAFE and Kangan Institute has experienced a significant increase in enrolments in the past year, and yesterday in Bendigo the Minister for Training and Skills Gayle Tierney announced that Architectus has been appointed to design the $60 million redevelopment of Bendigo TAFE’s City Campus, in partnership with Six Degrees.

The key purpose for the project is to achieve an Asset Master Plan that will provide a pathway or foundation for Bendigo Kangan Institute to establish an asset mix that supports the achievement of the 2020 Vision strategic goals.

The highly complex project encompasses the improvement of planning and delivery of services across all 13 BKI locations while reconsidering the current significant projects underway or in planning.

Architectus’ involvement includes the review of each property asset while engaging with Bendigo Kangan Institute to plan how the facilities will respond to the impact of technological innovation.

Architectus Director, Ruth Wilson said, “Our aim is to create an invigorating education environment where students and staff can foster strong learning partnerships and showcase Bendigo TAFE as an industry-focused, forward-looking and inspiring place to develop future skills.”
