Architectus was engaged by NSW Health Infrastructure to provide town planning services for the major redevelopment of Westmead Hospital and four other hospital projects.
The Stage 1 redevelopment of Westmead Hospital is a State Significant Development (SSD) comprising new Pathology building, new Super Acute building, and refurbishment of existing buildings. Architectus is preparing an Environmental Impact Statement for
Proposed enabling works are being undertaken in a Review of Environmental Factors (REF) comprising demolition of buildings, realignment of Institute Road, building refurbishment, site remediation, at-grade car parking, and site infrastructure upgrades.
A separate REF was prepared for demolition of the Western Sydney Local Health District office to fast track redevelopment of the site.
Architectus has prepared other draft urban planning reports for the project including Planning Approval Pathways Advice, Site Assessment and Due Diligence Report, Concept Report, Request for Secretary Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs), and have provided ongoing planning advice.
Since award of the Westmead Hospital Redevelopment, Architectus has
been commissioned by NSW Health Infrastructure to provide urban planning services on a further four projects including Royal North Shore Hospital Divestment Land, Wyong Hospital Redevelopment, Shellharbour Hospital Redevelopment and Moruya District Hospital in Eurobodalla Shire.
