As new development fuels the growth of this eastern Sydney suburb, a new park in Pagewood has emerged to provide greater amenity to the local community.
It’s part of the second stage of Meriton’s development on the former British American Tobacco Australia (BATA) site.
The landscape vision revolved around a new communal open space and drawcard for celebration, play, discovery and leisure.
A rich mix of public spaces
The thoughtfully designed landscape features tree-lined through-site links and a range of public spaces such as picnic shelters, seating nooks, kick-about spaces and a playground.
This new community hub creates a pedestrian-friendly environment for the residents of Lot B and E in Pagewood.
Boosting local biodiversity
An important part of the project was the carefully curated palette of native planting featuring species from the Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub, an endangered planting community endemic to the area.
Each space is also framed by trees and shrubs, contributing significantly to boosting local biodiversity.
