The New Mandurah Hospital is a transformative investment in healthcare infrastructure designed to meet the needs of one of Western Australia’s fastest-growing regions.

Built on vacant land adjacent to the existing Peel Health Campus, the project will deliver a modern hospital campus with expanded clinical capacity and a broader range of public health services, replacing all services at the existing hospital with purpose-built facilities.

The West Australian Health Alliance, a joint venture between Built and Sacyr, is the alliance partner for the design and development of the New Mandurah Hospital. The project is being delivered by the Office of Major Infrastructure Delivery on behalf of the Department of Health.

Architectus is leading the project’s architectural design, health planning, landscape architecture and interiors as design partners alongside engineering firm Aurecon.

Expanding healthcare services for the region

Once complete, the New Mandurah Hospital will offer a significantly enhanced healthcare experience with modern facilities, increased capacity and a strong focus on mental health and specialist services.

The facility will be integrated within a new campus setting with a focus on landscape for healing and connection.

Designing with Country is integral to the approach developed through engagement with the local Binjareb Noongar Traditional Owners.

A new mental health emergency centre will offer dedicated support for individuals experiencing acute mental health crises.

The project will also deliver an expanded emergency department, providing faster, more responsive care with increased treatment bays and short stay capacity.

The new hospital will also include:
-Continuation of all current services
-Mental health inpatient facilities
-Chemotherapy and renal services
-Expanded perioperative services
-Birthing and women’s health facilities
-Palliative care services
-Expanded clinical and non-clinical support services
