Architectus has been engaged by NSW Health Infrastructure to provide town planning services for the redevelopment of Wyong Hospital to enable it to function as a major metropolitan hospital.

The scope of planning services includes a State Significant Development (SSD) Application for the major redevelopment works and a Review of Environmental Factors (REF) for enabling works including at-grade car park.

The proposal includes a new emergency department, additional operating theatres, expansion of mental health services, additional inpatient beds for medical and acute services, clinical and non-clinical support, site services and increased car parking.
Challenges for the redevelopment include car parking and access arrangements, ecological impacts, bushfire risk and the bulk and scale of the proposed development.

Architectus has prepared draft town planning reports including a draft Master Plan Report – Planning and a draft Request for Director-General’s Requirements. An Environmental Impact Statement will be prepared for the SSD application, and an REF will be prepared for the enabling works.
