The Sydney Jewish Museum will be transformed into a state-of-the-art environment for celebrating contemporary Jewish culture and history, while continuing to educate about the Holocaust and promote tolerance.
The museum has long operated at full capacity with limited floor space. This project will see their existing Darlinghurst site doubled in size to include new, modern, tech-enabled galleries and educational spaces with the capacity for 100,000 visitors per year.
The expansion will further support the museum’s mission to promote tolerance, harmony, and social cohesion in an increasingly polarised world.
Planning was approved in 2024, with construction commencing in 2025 and completion expected in 2027.
