SHIP comprises 1053 hectares of industrial zoned land, located between Sydney and Canberra. The master plan lays out a path forward to transform the area into a dynamic hub for sustainable and innovative industries. 

The strategic location creates a catalyst for investment in the region, creating better opportunities for local employment and sustainable growth of communities on Sydney’s doorstep.

Wingecarribee Shire Council is making immediate moves to implement the master plan which establishes four key precincts: 

  • Activity node: fostering creativity and collaboration  
  • Agribusiness: leveraging the regions agricultural strengths 
  • Research / training / Advanced Manufacturing: Driving technological advancement  
  • Heavy Industry / Construction: supporting essential industrial activities 

Unique to the region of SHIP is the focus on preserving the character of the Southern Highlands to attract and foster long term innovation in the area.
