Connection is embedded in the interior design DNA of Senex Energy’s Brisbane workplace.

The company wanted to create an environment that would foster interaction between employees, encourage cross-sector collaboration, and reflect the communities and landscapes where Senex operates.

A rich landscape of interactive experiences

After carefully analysing the structural floor plates and other key elements of the company’s site, our interiors team established a seamless pathway for Senex staff across all levels of the workplace, featuring six sets of interconnecting stairs.

Our exploration of workplace design revealed that smaller, vertically-oriented spaces would enhance connectivity among team members. By establishing defined neighbourhoods and diverse settings, we created a rich landscape of interactive experiences.

A design that connects on multiple levels

Our design draws inspiration from the textures of the natural landscape and the vibrant communities of the Surat Basin.

By carefully selecting materials and combining them with strong forms, we echo the richness of Atlas and Roma North, ensuring that the space is not only aesthetically pleasing but also deeply connected to the communities that shape Senex Energy.

The heart of the workplace

The company’s Control Room is the heart of the workplace. Like the operational and trading areas of the business, it manages time-sensitive activities. Project and engineering workspaces are also designed for greater efficiency.

On the client-facing floor, our design is inspired by the movement of gas pipework and the principles of engineering, forming a strong connection to both site operations and the city.

A fit out that’s flexible

Flexible meeting pods and focus rooms on various levels allow Senex to adapt and grow to ensure the environment continually meets users’ needs.

Thoughtfully selected materials reflect the local landscape, resulting in a high quality yet unpretentious workplace with functionality at its core.
