At the time of its development, the S2 Data Centre in Macquarie Park, Sydney was NEXTDC’s most ambitious project, paving the way for the company to establish larger and more sophisticated data centres.
Contractor Multiplex appointed our Digital team (BIM Consulting) to provide strategic consultancy and BIM management services for this highly complex development.
As part of our routine BIM delivery services, we took charge of clash detection, conducted 3D review meetings, and audited project models.
The phased fit-out of data halls required a tailored BIM configuration, with a structured plan of modelling to achieve design and installation in stages.
Our role in NEXTDC’s subsequent Sydney project
Building on our work with Multiplex on S2, Architectus Digital played a role in the company’s next project – NEXTDC S3 in Artarmon.
The project required an integrated BIM process, including development of a LOD500 model to suit NEXTDC’s ambition for a digital twin and potential integration with other facilities’ management platforms.
S3 is NEXTDC’s largest Sydney data centre, with 20,000sqm of technical space and a capacity of 80MW and 10,800 racks.
