Our Digital team (BIM Consulting) provided BIM management services to help deliver the complex Equinix ME2 Data Centre in Melbourne.
Like most data centre projects, this highly serviced building is considered the most challenging building typology for 3D coordination.
Our team seamlessly overcame challenges by implementing a well-structured process, a collaboration environment tailored to a huge project team, and the necessary project management skills to uphold the diligence of the process.
Clash detection, 3D reviews and audits
As part of our routine digital delivery services, we were responsible for running clash detection, conducting 3D review meetings, and auditing project models.
Our team developed 3D issue management, with the tracking application BCapp serving as a pivotal collaboration tool for the wider project team. This gave the team opportunities to view and log issues anywhere, on any device.
We identified key areas of the model critical to the data centre’s operations for a higher degree of design resolution, particularly around access and maintenance for the facility, located in Port Melbourne.
