Architectus has been engaged by JWLand to design their landmark project, Park Street Brunswick. The proposal aspires to create a socially diverse community around a new internal communal square. The scheme provides a wide range of housing typologies, apartments, walk ups, town houses and penthouses to accommodate a diverse market from first home buyers and young families to ‘empty nesters’

The project also provides a childcare centre, a community hub and tenancy’s suitable for food and beverage, all contributing to the diverse liveability of the proposal and the area.

The design was driven by the sites context and relationship with the very different street scapes of Brunswick Road, Park Street and Sydney Road, from a scale, grain, materiality and an emotive perspective. Internally the landscape is generous and real, particularly when referenced against comparable developments within Brunswick. It is considered as a series of layers or spaces which manage the transition from private to public and internal community to the external neighbourhood, providing a foil and backdrop for the residents to meet and live
