YE is an experienced and accomplished Associate Principal with a high level of understanding of international projects and cultural requirements. As a registered architect since 2006, YE has over 15 years experience designing, implementing and managing various projects across health and aged care sector. YE is highly skilled in developing innovative planning solutions for health and aged care development, promoting quality of life, sustainability and operational efficiency.
YE is passionate about aged-inclusive and socially inclusive environments. She has a deep understanding of clinical health planning and the aged care industry and its unique challenges and sees opportunities in designing communities and infrastructure that meet the needs of all ages. YE’s project experience includes health care, mental health, aged care, scientific laboratories, teaching and learning spaces, office accommodation and conservation, and adaptive reuse of heritage-listed buildings.
YE completed her PhD at The University of Queensland in 2023. Her doctorate research “Design for social and cultural practices of Indigenous residents in aged care homes, South East Queensland”, uses a qualitative case study approach. The thesis aims to establish empirical evidence about Indigenous peoples’ social and cultural practices in residential aged care and how architectural design can be used to improve the living experiences and wellbeing of Indigenous residents and their connections to Country, culture, family, kin, and the community.
