Marcelo brings four decades of experience in the design and construction industry, working with leading practices across the Canberra region and nationally. Beginning his career in technical support, he has built deep expertise in the delivery of complex architectural and project services and is recognised for his calm, solutions‑focused approach to challenging briefs and project environments.

As Strategic Market Development Lead, Marcelo focuses on business development in the Canberra market, drawing on his extensive project experience and long‑standing industry relationships to connect clients with the right teams and capabilities across the practice.

Before joining Architectus, Marcelo held strategic leadership roles at IA Design and peckvonhartel, where he oversaw national operations and the delivery of major Workplace, Living, Health, Education and Infrastructure projects. His combination of technical knowledge, organisational capability and management experience has underpinned successful outcomes for key federal and state government clients as well as major organisations.

Marcelo’s core strength lies in leading and optimising service delivery within design firms. His detailed understanding of construction, design and documentation across architecture, interior design and engineering services makes him a trusted partner in design coordination, ensuring alignment between client aspirations, consultant inputs and delivery teams.

Known for his clear communication style and thoughtful listening, Marcelo builds strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, fostering confidence in the design process from early briefing through to project completion.
