Professional Experience

John Hayball has over 20 years’ experience in a diverse range of sectors including education, rail, urban design, master planning, justice and commercial. Committed to delivering built environments that respond to their context in a meaningful way, John takes inspiration from history, culture, climate and surroundings. He is also excited by design thinking that enables a project to reach beyond its immediate location and influence its surroundings.

Education projects have been a significant focus of John’s architectural career and he is passionate about the effect these types of projects have on the users and communities. To every project John brings a combination of design excellence, crafted detail, technical expertise, and the skilful management of design teams and stakeholder interests, providing project outcomes that are creative, intuitive and value conscious. John also has considerable expertise in the rail sector, working with large government clients and undertaking senior design roles on major rail and infrastructure projects.

John is skilled in master planning, concept design, design development and has demonstrable experience in design leadership in the delivery of  complex projects.
