Joanna Horsfield

Joanna is an architect with over 20 years of experience across Europe, Asia and Australia, specialising in a diverse range of projects including retail, commercial, education, and transport-oriented designs. Her expertise in transport infrastructure was developed in Hong Kong, working on various rail and transport related projects, such as underground stations for the Mass Transit Railway, transportation hubs, boundary crossing facilities, and airports. Additionally, Joanna has been involved in major master planning and residential developments in China, including the prominent Kunming Gateway mixed-use development and New District Landmark tower in Shenzhen.

After relocating to Singapore, Joanna served as the Architecture Lead for a significant multi-station Metro project for the Singapore Land Transit Agency, Cross Island Line and concept design for new Dhoho airport in East Java. Her responsibilities also included resource allocation, tendering, and managing office and project budgets.

Since returning to Australia in 2022, she has led two architecture teams on the Parklife Metro project in Sydney, focusing on the delivery of two of the six planned stations. This project involves close collaboration between architectural teams across multiple locations in Australia, engineers in Singapore and London, and a production team in Vietnam.

As a lead architect in the infrastructure transport sector, Joanna prioritises fostering teamwork, seamless collaboration, and an innovative culture within her teams. With a strong passion for conceptual design and extensive experience in project execution – from commercial tendering and design to award and delivery – she brings a balanced approach to transforming concepts into reality.
