Darren Paul

With more than 30 years’ experience, Darren has contributed to numerous landmark projects across the Living, Commercial and Hospitality sectors. His work spans the breadth of contemporary Living typologies – from Build-to-Sell and Build-to-Rent to co-living and student accommodation – with a focus on how amenity, longevity, and operational performance combine to create resilient communities.

Darren has played a leading role in some of Melbourne’s earliest Build-to-Rent projects, including Home’s City Road development and Mirvac’s Liv Munro project in the Queen Victoria Market precinct. These projects have helped establish new benchmarks for liveability, flexibility and resident experience in this emerging asset class.

Darren also contributed to the mixed-use refurbishment of 161 Collins Street, sensitively repositioning the landmark asset as a world-class workplace and retail environment.

Known for his balance of design leadership and technical rigour, Darren works closely with clients, operators, and consultant teams to translate vision and commercial objectives into environments that are a pleasure to live in.

Prior to joining Architectus, Darren worked with several leading Australian design practices, including Bates Smart, Hassell, BVN, Elenberg Fraser, and Peddle Thorp.
