Professional Experience
Andrew Shields has over 35 years of international experience. He has led design teams both within the studio and remotely within multidisciplinary project offices on many highly technical projects from infrastructure and rail to large-scale commercial developments. He has worked extensively at all project stages from feasibility and concept design to preliminary and detailed design to tender and construction completion.
Andrew has considerable background managing complex interfaces between clients, consultants, and stakeholders in the urban integration of large and smaller-scale infrastructure projects.
Since joining Architectus in 2018, Andrew has been Project Principal on the detail design of Sydney Metro’s Barangaroo Station, the first new station in a ground-breaking metro project for the city.
He is also a key senior team member on the Transport for New South Wales Central Precinct Redevelopment project; Andrew has managed communication between the Architectus-led urban and architectural team tasked with developing a design framework, and the engineering consultant team tasked with developing a construction strategy.
