The Clendon Centre shortlisted for an INDE.Award

More than 500 buildings, spaces, objects and people submitted entries into the 2022 INDE.Awards and we’re thrilled to share that the Clendon Centre has been shortlisted for the Learning Space Award.

The Clendon Centre is a new education building for years 7 to 9 students at Loreto Toorak’s campus in Melbourne. The building design has been shaped by the learning programs and social interaction of the students.

The space is organised into “learning by levels” strata with years 7 and 8 occupying the two upper levels and year 9 the ground and basement level one. Each of the floors accommodates all formal home rooms and informal areas so that students can truly base themselves within their year-level “hub”. “Socratic circles” exist in addition to classrooms, providing opportunities for students and staff to engage in learning settings not possible within the classrooms.

Congratulations to all those shortlisted. Winners will be announced on Thursday 4 August. View the full INDE Awards 2022 shortlist here
