Architectus appointed to design Health & Medical Research Centre

Architectus has been appointed to design a new world-class health and medical research building for Flinders University, South Australia.

The Flinders Health and Medical Research Building will be a catalyst for translating research into clinical outcomes; indigenous, rural and remote health; and healthy communities.

The centre will be a considerable step towards the broader vision for Flinders Village being realised, with the building forming the first stage and centrepiece of the campus transformation. The health and medical research building will be designed to provide state-of-the-art research facilities, in addition to teaching simulation and clinical research spaces for the community.

Architectus Principal and Adelaide Studio Leader, Andrew Schunke said the team was delighted to be working with Flinders University on this once in a generation health and medical research project.

“Our national team of experts look forward to collaborating with the university to deliver an exceptional solution that will not only provide modern, collaborative, and innovative research and workspace facilities, but will strengthen South Australia’s offering of innovative and best practice health care for local, regional and rural communities.

“Since Architectus opening its Adelaide studio in 2015, we have grown to a team of 40 architects and designers. It’s fantastic that we can continue to undertake transformative projects such as this within the state and provide our employees with project opportunities that will contribute to the urban fabric of the local community,” said Schunke.
