Westmead Innovation Quarter receives green light

Parramatta City Council gives development approval to Westmead Innovation Quarter

Construction on the Westmead Innovation Quarter (iQ) commenced this month after receiving development approval from Parramatta City Council.

Designed by Architectus, the world-class development will create a visionary hub for innovation in health, education, research and business, substantially elevating Westmead’s status as one of the world’s most advanced innovation districts.

Development approval has been received for two mixed-use towers at iQ, situated between the hospital and Westmead station. These towers will provide health, research, education and commercial space, facilitating significant opportunities for collaboration within the existing Westmead health precinct and complementary commercial partners.

The aspirational and functional requirements of the research-focused hub form part of the overall Research Precinct Master Plan.

Architectus Principal Colin Odbert said, “It is a great pleasure to be working together again with Charter Hall and WSU in delivering the Westmead Innovation Quarter, a development that will transform this vital part of Western Sydney and bring genuine activation and amenity to the Westmead precinct.”
