Victorian architecture awards shortlist announced

The Kangan Institute’s Health and Community Centre of Excellence has been shortlisted for the Melbourne Prize and Educational Architecture award in the 2025 Victorian Architecture Awards of the Australian Institiute of Architecture awards Victorian Chapter.  

Officially opened earlier this year, the building is already buzzing with teachers and the students who will become the next generation of care workers Australia needs. 

Home to a range of courses including nursing, pathology, aged care, childcare and disability support, students are spread over three levels and connected by light filled atria. The building is a confident first step in a master plan which re-orients the campus to the Broadmeadows community, displaying the interesting training happening within the building and embracing the neighbouring Town Park as part of the campus experience. 

It’s an honour to be recognised for a building that is already making a difference to teachers’ and students’ daily lives. Congratulations to all involved in the awards program, winners will be announced at the end of June.
