See inside Bendigo TAFE at Open House Bendigo
Join Architectus Associate Jayden Peacock on a closer look inside Bendigo TAFE when the award-winning City Campus opens its doors for Open House Bendigo 2022.
Recently awarded the Australian Institute of Architects (VIC) Awards, Joseph Reed Award for Urban Design 2022, the city campus revitalisation project was completed in July 2021 and is already enhancing the experience of Bendigo TAFE students, staff and the wider community.
The project, by Architectus, Six Degrees Architects and SBLA Studio, weaves the campus into Bendigo’s historic fabric, celebrates TAFE’s industrial heritage and champions its ongoing contribution to regional prosperity. First Nations people are warmly celebrated through special co-created places and by embedding artwork by Wurundjeri, Dja Dja Wurrung and Ngurai Illam Wurrung artist, Mandy Nicholson.
The campus is now home to multiple diverse student cohorts, each with specific learning needs and spatial requirements, creating a nurturing, nourishing, and collaborative environment where all students are welcome, comfortable, supported, and belong.
On Saturday 22 October, Architectus Associate Jayden Peacock will lead campus tours and share some of the stories and inspiration behind its design.
Tours will begin at 10:00am and 11:00am and run for 45 minutes. Tour groups are limited to 20 people. Learn more about the event here.
Open House Melbourne will also be hosting a ‘mini-marathon’ of presentations showcasing the development of architecturally significant ‘Big Build’ projects that are shaping the future of Bendigo’s city centre – including Bendigo TAFE. Find out more.
