Marcelo Solar appointed as Strategic Market Development Lead in Canberra

Marcelo Solar has joined Architectus as Strategic Market Development Lead, a newly created role based in our Canberra studio.

This appointment strengthens our presence in the ACT, an area that has experienced significant growth over the past decade and presents substantial opportunities.

Marcelo will focus on business development and client engagement, drawing on his extensive project experience and longstanding industry relationships to connect clients with the right teams and capabilities across the practice.

With four decades of experience in the design and construction industry, Marcelo has deep expertise in the delivery of architectural and project services across workplace, living, health, and education projects among other sectors.

Before joining Architectus, he held pivotal leadership roles at IA Design and peckvonhartel, where he oversaw national operations and the delivery of key projects for federal and state government clients as well as major organisations. His combination of technical knowledge, organisational capability, and management experience has underpinned successful outcomes on complex and demanding projects.

Marcelo is recognised for his calm, solution-focused approach to challenging briefs and his detailed understanding of construction, design and documentation across architecture, interior design and engineering.

Marcelo will be supported by the Living and Working group at Architectus, who have been busy expanding our networks and opportunities in the Canberra market. He’ll also work closely with Canberra Studio Leader Alex Lawlor and Associate Principal Andrew Collins.

The appointment reflects our practice’s commitment to strengthening service delivery and client relationships in Canberra, with Marcelo’s expertise and established networks putting us in an even better position to support the growth of Architectus in the region.
