Kangan Institute Health and Community Centre of Excellence Opens
Architectus has celebrated the completion of Kangan Institute Health and Community Centre of Excellence in Broadmeadows—a world-class facility set to transform vocational education in healthcare and community services.
Officially opened by Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan and Minister for Skills and TAFE Gayle Tierney, the Centre will provide 1,400 students with high-quality training in in-demand fields such as nursing, aged care, childcare, mental health, disability, pathology, and allied health. Notably, 13 TAFE qualifications and short courses will be tuition-free, making career opportunities more accessible.
“This new centre is a game-changer for Broady.” – Minister for Skills and TAFE The Hon Gayle Tierney
Strategically located near open parkland in a vibrant mixed-use precinct, the design enhances visibility and accessibility, seamlessly integrating with the broader community.
“We want to show people in caring professions that they are valued by providing a state-of-the-art environment where they can build skills and lifelong connections,” said Architectus Principal Ruth Wilson.
With over 1,000 students expected to train in 2025, and doubling in 2026, the facility offers clear pathways to employment through partnerships with universities, industry, and community organisations.
“We’re helping shape a healthier, stronger future for Melbourne’s northern corridor and beyond.”
– Kangan Institute CEO Sally Curtain
