KBR and Architectus appointed Australian Naval Infrastructure’s design partners

Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR) and Architectus are proud to be announced as Australian Naval Infrastructure’s design partners on what the Deputy Prime Minister has described as “the single biggest industrial endeavour that our nation has ever attempted”.

The Academy will train and sustain crucial naval talent for decades to come and now puts Australia on the path to owning “one of the most high-tech production lines in the world”, the Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles said.  

“The Skills and Training Academy is a milestone that will really differentiate the future of our state,” said Premier of South Australia Peter Malinauskas. 

With a collaborative approach in both spirit and geography, the design team on the groundbreaking venture will draw on the Australia’s most specialised Defence design talent in Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane.  

The $480 million Skills & Training Academy in Osborne, South Australia will serve as a landmark education facility for Australia’s submarine program and a cornerstone of Australia’s naval future.

The design of the Skills and Training Academy Campus will simulate the submarine construction yard, providing hands on skills and classroom-based learning. The facility will include trade workshops, state of the art classrooms and a large central submarine mock-up area. 

The design and build will also be supported by Australia’s Sovereign Submarine Build Partners, BAE Systems and ASC Pty Ltd, to draw on the deep experience of our partners, ensuring training aligns with industry requirements.
