Castlemaine Learning Hub opens its doors

The Castlemaine Learning Hub has officially opened.

The project posed a unique challenge – transforming an existing hospital wing into a cutting-edge training space, including simulated hospital, aged care, and home care settings.

The adaptive reuse of this building will now provide much needed spaces to educate regional health and care workers near their homes and communities, addressing the critical skills shortages in our healthcare sector, while supporting regional communities.

In attendance was The Hon. Gayle Tierney MP to officially launch the Learning Hub, joined by The Hon Maree Edwards MP, Member for Bendigo West, and Sue Race, CEO of Dhelkaya Health.

Constructed by majority Indigenous-owned company Barpa Construction Services, the Hub represents a commitment to building and fostering skills and community within regional Victoria.

Congratulations to our truly collaborative partnership with Bendigo TAFE, Dhelkaya Health, and the local community alongside DCWC and Project Cost Management Group for delivering this critical infrastructure.
